Santander Teleport is expanding its facilities as it continues to grow its Teleport Operations and Technical Services business. The company has recently acquired 8,500 sqm (about 2.1 acres) of land, of which approximately half of that is being converted into an extension of its antenna field.
Civil works are well advanced for the new area which will initially accommodate four new 8 and 9 meter antennas in different frequency bands and a new shelter to host RF and baseband equipment. These new antennas are expected to become operational this summer. The new antenna farm will also accommodate third-party antennas for hosting contracts.
Additionally, construction works in the main office building are well advanced and include: a complete revamp of the office space and Network Operations Centre facilities, a larger and newly refurbished social area, and a new state-of-the-art technical lab and training room.
Earlier this year, Santander Teleport appeared in the first position of The Fast 20 Teleport Operators ranking release by the World Teleport Association.
