Santander Teleport is supporting humanitarian relief efforts in Nepal by donating its X-band teleport facilities to provide satellite communication services in the region. Santander Teleport has been working with partners in delivering a satellite network to facilitate access to much needed communications in Nepal.
The 7.9 magnitude earthquake, which hit Nepal on Saturday, April 25, has claimed thousands of lives and destroyed the country´s telecommunications infrastructure, further hindering relief efforts. In cases like this, satellites provide the only mean to enable vital communications.
